Today we ventured to the outskirts of the city to find the cemetery where composers such as Beethoven and the Strauss-es are buried. It was a magnificent cemetery that held a dazzling cathedral in the center. The interior of the cathedral was circular in shape which created so amazing acoustics, which as a group of musicians we had to experiment with. We explored the cathedral from top to bottom, taking the elevator to the balcony area and down to the clean and open spaced crypt that heals more head stones of important people. When Wendy, Maura, Dr. Powell, and I returned to the main level, we joined the rest of the group in singing 'silent night' which wafted its way to the royal blue dome of the cathedral and wound around the group to fill the space.
Going to see Rossini's, Barber of Seville tonight!!!
